What is the Lucky Hearts Club?

The Lucky Hearts Club is a membership club sponsored by the Sacred Heart Cathedral School. It is a fun and simple way to support the activities and capital improvements of the school, with the chance to make a little money for yourself, too!

Membership entitles each member to a 52-week participation in weekly drawings for cash prizes. Drawings for cash prizes will be made each Monday by blind draw in the school office. On the first Monday of each month, the winner will receive one hundred dollars ($100). On subsequent Mondays, the winner will receive fifty dollars ($50). Names are put back into "the hat" so it is possible to win more than once off of the same ticket.

How do I become a member of the Lucky Hearts Club?

$20 memberships can be purchased from students attending the school or from the school office.

What are the benefits and advantages of the Lucky Hearts Club?

• Friends and family who live out of town can participate.
• The potential revenue from this one fund raising activity is very high compared to the effort that is involved.
• Virtually all “work” is done by the beginning of school but for sure by mid-September.
• There is only one “visit” to the buyer/supporter, i.e. no order taking followed by deliveries.
• It is fun and exciting to see who wins each week.

How do the mechanics of the fundraising activity work?

• In July, each family with children registered at Sacred Heart Cathedral School for the following fall term will be mailed a set of ten annual memberships. The family is asked to sell at least 8 memberships to maximize the total profit from this fundraising event.
• Each family that sells all ten of the enclosed memberships will be given a free membership for a chance to win in the 52 weekly drawings.
• For each additional five memberships sold, the family will receive their choice of $25 worth of SCRIP. (This SCRIP is purchased from the proceeds of the Lucky Hearts membership and does not deter from the SCRIP profits. As a matter of fact, it adds to the SCRIP profits.)
• On the day of the first drawing, the family that has sold the most memberships will also receive their choice of $100 worth of SCRIP.
• Additional books of memberships can be picked up at the school office.
• For each membership sold, please return the left hand side of the ticket and ensure your family name is in the grayed-in section that reads " Official Use:…."
• Please turn in all monies and memberships, whether sold or unsold, to the school office by the first day of school.

Official Lucky Hearts Rules and Regulations

• The Lucky Hearts Club is a membership Club sponsored by the Sacred Heart Cathedral School.
• Annual Membership fees are twenty dollars ($20) which entitles each member to a 52-week participation in weekly drawings for cash prizes. Any ticket received after the drawings have begun will participate in the remaining portion of the 52 weeks.
• Drawings for cash prizes will be made each Monday by blind draw in the school office. You need not be present to win.
• On the first Monday of each month, the winner will receive one hundred dollars ($100). On subsequent Mondays, the winner will receive fifty dollars ($50).
• Winners will be notified by telephone after each drawing.
• All checks to winners will be drafted and sent directly to the winner using the address on the winning membership.
• On Mondays that are holidays, the drawings will be held on the next day the school office is open.
• All tickets will be eligible for each drawing, regardless of whether that ticket has previously been drawn as a winner.
• The first drawing will be held on the first Monday in September. The final drawing will be held on the last Monday in August.
• The left hand side of the membership ticket should be completed making sure that the name of the family selling the membership is included in the grayed-in area marked "Official Use:.."

 

Fundraising Potential

The Lucky Hearts Club has the potential to raise over $25,000 for our school.

Our Lucky Hearts profit for 2009-2010 is now at $8,500 and family participation is at 39%. If every family who has not yet participated sold just one ticket, we would raise our profit to $11,000.

2009-2010 Lucky Hearts

Trish Lee was the winner of our first Lucky Hearts drawing for the 09-10 year. Congratulations, Trish!

The Escobedo family won the contest for selling the most memberships, they sold 16 in all. Great work!

Remember, there are still 51 drawings for this year and each ticket is good for every drawing. We will gladly add memberships at any point along the way. Please keep on selling.

Eighth Grade Parents

Families of eighth graders are reminded that if you don’t sell Lucky Hearts tickets you will be asked to fund your student’s trip to New Orleans in the spring.
