The middle school years are an important time for students to grow in self-awareness of their unique abilities, form life-long friendships, and begin to explore the deeper ideas of the various academic disciplines. Middle school at Sacred Heart is preparation for the rigors of high school, successful careers, and, ultimately, a life of Christian discipleship.

A love for Jesus and learning

Experienced faculty members foster a love of learning in their classrooms and lead students to strive for their personal best, setting high expectations and promoting a growth mindset.

Most importantly, recognizing that Jesus is the reason for our school, the curriculum at Sacred Heart Cathedral School integrates love of Christ and others into every subject area.

Truth, Beauty, and Goodness

The curriculum in middle school therefore integrates the classical liberal arts in Humanities classes and fosters student inquiry in our lab-based science program.

Students encounter truth, beauty, and goodness through discussions of great literature, strong religious formation in the Catholic faith, numerous service projects, and quality instruction by our exceptional faculty.

Well-prepared Students

Graduates of Sacred Heart go one to be highly successful high school students who excel in daily academics as well as national standardized tests. Qualifying students in math may take Honors Algebra at the high school level. We seek to holistically educate each student and form well-rounded, life-long learners.

Our students engage in discussions and service, develop technical skills through our 1:1 MacBook Air laptop program, and strive for academic excellence.

FAQ

Questions & Answers

Do you offer before and after school care?

Students may be dropped off in the morning as early as 7:00am (no additional fee) and will meet in the gym until 7:30am when they will go to their homeroom classroom.

The Extended Care Program is available until 5:30pm.

How do parents get involved?

Volunteers are an integral part of the success of our school, both through events and activities. The Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee requires that all volunteers, chaperones and fieldtrip drivers complete a Level-2 background clearance. The cost is $65 and the packets are available in the school office.

Is bus service available?

We do not own nor operate any sort of transportation service. You may request a zip code list mid-summer to check on creating a carpool.

Does Sacred Heart have a hot lunch program?

While the majority of students bring their own lunch, families may order lunch in advance through the online lunch program Campus Cuisine.

What are the school hours?

Monday-Friday 7:45am – 2:45pm.
